Hosting PhD Scholars
DPIC hosted PhD students Jack Glaser and Tanya Rajan from the University of Chicago, and Menna Bishop from the University of Warwick in April 2024. During their visit, the students engaged closely with DPIC’s ongoing work on migration and undertook field visits to villages in Kendrapara district, Odisha. These visits offered firsthand insights into the lived experiences of communities affected by displacement and migration. Through interactions with residents, the students explored village histories, patterns of mobility, and the strategies communities adopt to navigate migration-related challenges. The engagement provided a rich, interdisciplinary perspective on one of DPIC’s key research themes.
