Consultative Workshop on Using Administrative Data for Governance
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, convened a consultative workshop on Using Administrative Data for Governance: Linking Departmental Data at the State/UT Level at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The workshop brought together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to discuss how administrative data can strengthen decision-making and accelerate AI-ready data systems. Dr. Urmila Chatterjee, Executive Director, DPIC, joined the panel to highlight how actionable intelligence can be extracted from large government datasets, drawing on examples from Odisha. The discussion underscored the importance of data integration, reuse, and institutional systems that enable administrative data to inform policy and governance at scale.
