Focus Group Discussions on Education and Skilling Pathways

Building on insights from DPIC’s integrated skilling information system for the Government of Odisha, which tracks student trajectories after Class 10, the DPIC team conducted focus group discussions with Class 10 and 12 students to better understand their education and skilling choices. The discussions were led by Santiago Perez-Cardona, Milinda Mishra, Shruti Panda, and Aparupa Jena, and explored how students navigate post-secondary pathways, particularly in STEM streams. The engagement generated field-based insights into aspirations, constraints, and decision-making processes, complementing administrative data analysis.
