Roundtable on Migration

DPIC convened a roundtable on migration and human mobility in Bhubaneswar, bringing together stakeholders from government and academia to discuss challenges and opportunities in addressing migration in Odisha. The discussion explored the drivers of seasonal and semi-permanent migration, labour market vulnerabilities, and gaps in social protection. The roundtable also highlighted the importance of bridging data and policy across departments such as labour, transport, and disaster management. By fostering dialogue on climate-linked migration, labour dynamics, and data innovation, the event aimed to shape a research and policy agenda responsive to the lived realities of Odisha’s migrant communities.
